How to Comment on Blog Posts

Goal:
  • You need to comment on at least TWO posts by other students.
  • You then need to respond to all comments on your blog post.

Instructions:
  1. Find a blog post you want to comment on. You will be asking a clarifying question or making a connection to another topic.
  2. Click on the title of that post.
  3. Use the text box beneath the post to make your comment or ask a question.
  4. Make sure to put your name (first name only, or first name plus last initial if there are two students in the class with your same first name) at the end of your post so you get credit for it.
  5. Click "Post Comment."

Homework:
Respond to all questions or comments your peers made in response to your post. If no one responded to your post in class, respond to a comment on another student's post. Make sure to make textual reference to your article in the response.

How to Write and Post a Summary

After you have read your article, you will be posting a summary of it on this blog. The instructions for how to write a summary are posted here. Remember, don't look at the article while you are writing the actual words to avoid plagiarism and to make sure you've understood what you read.

After you've typed your summary in Microsoft Word, you will need to do the following:

  1. Go to www.blogger.com.
  2. Use the username and password Ms. Berthiaume gave you in class to log into this blog.
  3. Click "New Post."
  4. Make the title of your post "Your last name - Title of your article" ex. "Phillips - Obama Cancels Constellation Program."
  5. Post your summary in the large text box.
  6. Click "Publish Post."

Then begin reading posts by your peers. When you have a post that you are ready to respond to, look at the instructions in the next blog post here entitled "How to Comment on Blog Posts."
